1. Compensation for speakers

Admission, food and drinks

All speakers are invited to attend the entire conference. To ensure a seat in their workshops and keynotes of choice, speakers will have to register.

On Thursday and Friday, a lunch will be provided for all conference participants, including speakers. On Thursday evening, speakers and participants are kindly invited to a networking dinner at the conference venue.

Foreign speakers

Foreign speakers will receive a lump sum of €150 per conference day to compensate for accommodation expenses. Those who attend one conference day, will receive compensation for this one day only. If a speaker wishes to stay in Bruges for longer than two days, this will be at their own expense.

Additionally, travel expenses to and from Belgium will be reimbursed for foreign speakers. Speakers are asked to travel as ecologically and economically as possible. If the expenses are excessive, reimbursement may be refused or only partially granted by the organisation.

Domestic speakers

Domestic speakers may receive reimbursement for their travel expenses, only if these are not covered by the employer. Accommodation expenses will not be compensated for domestic speakers.

2. Compensation for youth workers working with young people with fewer opportunitiesdelegated by their country

For youth workers, working with young people with fewer opportunities, and delegated by their country through the Youth Working Party of the Council of the European Union,  within the youth working party who work with young people with fewer opportunities, the cost of accommodation is covered by the Department of Culture, Youth and Media of the Government of Flanders. These youth workers will receive a lump sum of €150 per conference day to compensate for accommodation expenses. Those who attend one conference day, will receive compensation for this one day only. If youth workers wish to stay in Bruges for longer than two days, this will be at their own expense.

Travel expenses to and from Belgium will not be reimbursed by the Department of Culture, Youth and Media of the Government of Flanders.

3. How to receive the compensation?

Transport and accommodation should be booked by the speakers/youth workers themselves. The organisation does not make any reservations. To receive the compensation, this template must be filled in and submitted via socialworkconference@vlaanderen.be. After verification, the money will be refunded as soon as possible.
